The official pitch is freeform building under monster waves, with autosave and offline defense. It does not publish a block list, hit points, or prices. This page is a layout method for those confirmed goals. Piece names and costs come from the build menu in front of you.
Four jobs for every footprint
- Force an approach. Monsters should meet your base in one place you chose, not on every open side.
- Cover that approach more than once. If the first damage piece breaks, something else should still see the lane.
- Leave yourself a way to reach the broken piece. A pretty maze that you cannot walk during a wave is a repair problem.
- Keep a second line. If the outer approach fails, the core should not be the next empty tile.
Decoration can sit behind that plan. It should not be the plan.
A build order that matches the listing
Use this order until the live menu gives you a reason to change it:
- Mark one entrance and close the other sides you can actually reach.
- Place blocking pieces along that entrance before you spend on extra wings.
- Add the damage pieces the menu offers so they look down the entrance, not into an empty courtyard.
- Stop spending while you still have a reserve for the next break.
- Only then lengthen the lane or add a fallback line closer to the core.
If the menu has no separate trap or turret category, do not invent one. Use the categories that are actually listed, and still point them at the same entrance.
Layouts compared
These are editing choices, not a tested damage ranking and not an official tier list. No public damage, range, or cost numbers were available to score pieces.
| Layout | Use it when | It fails when | Offline |
|---|---|---|---|
| One entrance, short lane | First sessions and solo play | You open extra gates and stop covering the original lane | Strong, if the lane is sealed |
| Outer lane plus an inner fallback | The outer line has already broken once, or a boss is close | You build the inner line by deleting the outer one first | Strong |
| Very small footprint | Short sessions and a server you will leave soon | You have no room to fall back | Strong only if coverage overlaps |
| Many open sides | Friends each want a personal gate | Six people can edit, and monsters walk the unwatched side | Weak |
Pick one row and keep it for several waves. Mixing all four in the first session usually leaves every side unfinished. Autosave will store that unfinished mix.
Building with other people
Up to six players can be in the server. Before a second person places pieces:
- Name one owner for the main entrance.
- Say whether guests may delete, or only add on a side area.
- Seal any new wing before the next wave.
- Do not leave a half-removed wall as the last edit of the session. Offline defense uses whatever remains.
More on jobs is in Co-op. Wave timing is in Survive waves. Boss space, without invented boss names, is in Bosses.
What not to copy
A video that builds with bedrock, crying obsidian, cash crates, or a night timer is describing a different Verity game unless it shows place 139536504610209. Check Avoid the wrong Verity game before you rebuild from a thumbnail.
